Nicole Courcel

Nicole Courcel (* 21st October 1931 as Nicole Marie-Anne Andrieux in Saint-Cloud , Ile-de-France ; † 26. June 2016 ) was a French actress .

Life

Nicole Courcel attended the Cours Simon drama school and received her first small film role at the age of 16. In 1949 Jacques Becker gave her the female lead in the contemporary portrait of today's youth . She then played nice, charming girls in French family comedies in numerous films of the 1950s. In Jean-Paul Le Chanois' comedies Papa, Mama, Katrin and I and Papa, Mama, my wife and I, she was the maid and future wife of Robert Lamoureux . A more mature figure was her young widow Kristina, who fell in love with The Blonde Witch in Maurice Ronet and, in the end, stood by her rival Marina Vlady .

In 1959 she appeared unsynchronized as a French neighbor playing the piano alongside Heinz Rühmann in the film comedy A man goes through the wall . After that she was mostly cast as a loving wife and mother.

Courcel shifted the focus of her activity to the theater. She was particularly successful in Arthur Miller's witch hunt ; she played Abigail in the French premiere of the play in 1954. She also appeared in numerous television films, which she gave priority to the cinema, and in television series.

In 1980 she published her book Julie tempête .

Nicole Courcel died on June 26, 2016 at the age of 84.
