Nicole Althea McClure (born November 16, 1989 in Jamaica , Queens ) is a Jamaican - American national soccer player.
Life
McClure was born the daughter of a Jamaican and an American in Jamaica Village in Queens , New York State . Between 2003 and 2007 she attended Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Bayside , Queens, New York State. After graduating in spring 2007, she enrolled for her communication studies degree at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Hawaii , she attended the university until spring 2009 and then went to the University of South Florida for her second degree in Bachelor of Arts . In Florida she did her alma mater in spring 2011 , with a Bachelor of Arts.
Career
In the club
McClure began her club career in 2003 with the East Meadow Shooting Stars . She continued her career here during the school holidays, but played for the Cardozo High School Women Soccer Team, the Cardozo Judges. In her senior year at school she also played for the East Meadow Shooting Stars before enrolling at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa in the fall of 2007 . McClure also played on the women soccer team of the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine while studying before continuing her studies at the University of South Florida . McClure immediately became a top performer and goalkeeper of the USF Bulls and let her career end in the 2010 semester break in the W-League at the Tampa Bay Hellenic. She returned to the USF Bulls in August 2010. There she played until she graduated in spring 2012, before McClure signed a contract with the Icelandic Landsbankadeild club UMF Selfoss . She played for Selfoss for six months and left the club in the summer to do a trial training session at SC Freiburg in the German women's Bundesliga . She failed during the trial training in Freiburg , but was able to convince the Swiss second division club FC Neunkirch in the friendly against Neunkirch . So she moved to Switzerland for FC Neunkirch in late September 2012 . However, she did not get beyond the reserve role in the 2012/13 season in the second Swiss division and therefore moved back to Iceland for HK / Vikingur in May 2013 . At Vikingur she found her strength back and announced her move to the Swedish Division 1 at Östersunds DFF after the season .
National team
McClure has been part of the Jamaican women's national soccer team since 2009, alongside her former club mate Donna Henry .
