Nicole Besic-Molzberger , formerly Müller-Orth , née Molzberger , (* 1974 in Neuwied ) is a German politician .

Life and education

Nicole Müller-Orth grew up in Weitersburg and Höhr-Grenzhausen (Westerwald). From 1985 to 1991 she attended the state secondary school in Höhr-Grenzhausen. After completing secondary school, she began an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic at the Deutsche Bundespost . When she came of age, she moved to Koblenz , in 1993 to Mendig , where she lived with a daughter and three sons.

politics

In 2001 she joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party . From 2002 to 2011 she was chairwoman of the Mendig branch. From 2002 to 2005 she was the managing director of the Mayen-Koblenz Green District Association, and until 2006 she worked in the constituency office of Member of Parliament Ise Thomas . In 2004 she was elected to the Mendig municipal council and the Mayen-Koblenz district council, where she is responsible for families and social issues. Her main interests in state and federal politics at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen are democracy and law. In 2009 she was again elected to the Mendig municipal council, the Mayen-Koblenz district council and, for the first time, the Mendig city council.

For the constituency of Andernach , she was in 19th place on the state list of the Greens in the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2011 . On March 27, 2011, however, only 18 Green politicians were elected to the 16th state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . After Eveline Lemke was elected Minister of Economics on May 18, Lemke renounced her mandate in the state parliament and thus enabled Nicole Müller-Orth to move up.

Besic-Molzberger was a member of the legal committee and the committee for equality and the advancement of women of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. She was the spokeswoman for consumer protection and drug policy for the parliamentary group of the Greens.

In the state elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 2016 , she was placed on the state list of the Greens, but could not achieve a mandate. In December 2016, her candidacy for the state chairmanship of her party failed.

In March 2017, she resigned from the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party.
