history

For the first time Niederadenau was in 992 in a certificate of Otto III. mentioned in the “Lierades Adenoua”. In 1368 Niederadenau was mentioned in connection with the four honnships of guilt. Since the 14th century there was a Nürburger feudal court in the place and the Adenauer Burglehen "Zur Mühle" belonged to numerous possessions there. At first Niederadenau belonged to the parish of Hönningen , later as a Dümpelfeld branch. The chapel, which is dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene , was built in 1872 and completed in 1901.

On February 2, 1945 Niederadenau was shaken by an Allied bomb hit. Eight people died in this attack. As a precaution, the citizens of Niederadenau built a bunker on today's “Tannenweg”, where on February 2, 1945 a bomb detonated right in front of the entrance of the bunker and buried it.

On October 1, 1976, the previously independent community of Niederadenau, which had 285 inhabitants at that time, was incorporated into Dümpelfeld.
