Niederfellendorf

Niederfellendorf is a district of Wiesenttal , a market in the Upper Franconian district of Forchheim in the center of Franconian Switzerland .

The small village with around 200 inhabitants is located south of the Wiesent across from Streitberg at the Neideck castle ruins . It is four kilometers to the next largest city, Ebermannstadt . The nearest train station is in Streitberg and is connected to a branch line of the Ludwig-Süd-Nord-Bahn .

history

Originally Niederfellendorf belonged to the Schlüsselberg ministers from Fellendorf. There was probably a fortified residence at the cemetery. After the Schlüsselbergers, the Prince-Bishop of Bamberg was the feudal lord from 1348. The whole place Niederfellendorf went as a fief to the Lord von Streitberg until they sold it to the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Ansbach in 1507/08.
