Band history

In 2002, Andreas Dombert recorded his first CD called Night of Jazz Guitars with Helmut Kagerer, his guitar lecturer at the Nuremberg-Augsburg University of Music , but it was never released. In 2006, the duo's first published CD followed, also entitled Night of Jazz Guitars ( Jazz4Ever Records , 2006). In 2010 the duo expanded into a trio through Paulo Morello. Through Morello's mediation, the US guitar star Larry Coryell was invited to Germany for concerts and a CD recording, which was released in 2011 on the In + Out Records label. A TV recording of the guitar quartet from the International Jazz Week in Burghausen 2011 for BR-alpha is available on YouTube . This quartet existed until 2014 with regular tours, including with Philip Catherine and Airto Moreira, which expanded the band into a quintet.

After a line-up change, Dombert and Morello founded a company of the same name as a civil law company and toured with Ulf Wakenius and Michael Sagmeister in 2015. In 2016 the CD Sound and Clouds was released with the American guitar legend Pat Martino and other guests on Home.Fi-Records . The international music critic Bill Milkowski wrote in the liner notes of the CD: "This is six-string work of the highest order."

Further tours with u. a. Martin Taylor, Torsten Goods and Ulf Wakenius followed. In 2018 the quartet will appear at the Bingen Swingt Jazz Festival with the new line-up of Andreas Dombert, Torsten Goods, Jesse van Ruller and Bruno Müller.
