Andreas Dombert

Andreas Dombert (born November 29, 1979 in Straubing ) is a German guitarist with roots in both jazz and pop / rock music .

Career

From 2000 to 2004, Dombert studied jazz guitar at the Nuremberg-Augsburg University of Music with Helmut Kagerer and Paulo Morello . From 2002 to 2004 he was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra . Then he was a member of the " Claudia Koreck Band" for five years , with whom he recorded the album Fliang , which in 2007 reached number 15 in the German album charts. In 2010 he released the album "Chameleon" with his band "Dombert's Urban Jazz". The follow-up CD “16/8” was, according to “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, in 2013 “one of the most exciting albums of the year”. In 2011 he had international appearances with the guitar quartet Night of Jazz Guitars, founded in 2010 .

Dombert is involved in albums by Elli Erl , Panzerballett and Georg Ringsgwandl . He played in the Sunday Night Orchestra and Thilo Wolf's big band . In 2015 he arranged a CD for the songwriter Christoph Weiherer . With Jochen Rückert and Henning Sieverts he presented his trio debut with Enja in 2016, which according to Spiegel Online opens up "fascinating sound spaces". In 2017 he was nominated nationally for the EchoJazz Guitar.

Awards

In 2002, Dombert received the City of Straubing's Cultural Promotion Prize. The formation Dombert's Urban Jazz was awarded the culture prize of the district of Upper Palatinate in 2014 in the jazz formation category. In 2017 he received the cultural sponsorship award of the city of Regensburg .
