Paul Tietze

Paul Tietze (born August 26, 1963 in Stuttgart - Bad Cannstatt ) is a German jazz musician ( double bass , also composition) and arranger.

Career

At the beginning of his career, Tietze played numerous concerts and tours with Lisa Fitz , Johnny Logan and Franz Benton , before studying bass, arrangement and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston until 1993 . Back in Munich he played with the Weather Girls , Thilo Wolf's big band and Carola Grey's Noisy Mama . He also worked as a theater musician at the Munich State Opera and for the musical theater. The bassist was then with Ecco DiLorenzo , Claudio Roditi , Uli Geissendoerfer, Melanie Bong and Lisa Wahlandt . He was also involved in music projects such as the Mal Waldron Memorial Big Band and the Coisa Nostra (led by Paulo Alves and Elmar Schmidt). He can also be heard on albums by Lisa Fitz and the Spider Murphy Gang .

He also works as musical director for the Eddy Miller Orchestra and Lou Bega and in the field of notation and arrangement for sheet music and book publishers.
