Exhibition etc.

In September 2010 there was an exhibition under the title Night of the Pawn in the Leipziger Werkschauhalle, with Norbert Bisky , Jonas Burgert , Birgit Dieker, Gregor Hildebrandt , Jonathan Meese , Sandra Meisel, Lea Asja Pagenkemper and Norbert Schwontkowski , among others . At the opening, Berliners played a chess tournament against Leipzig artists, with the writer Clemens Meyer on the Leipzig side . An edition of eight etchings was published . a. by Philip Grözinger, Gregor Hildebrandt and Jay Gard .

The NOTP is non-commercial and participation is free. However, the name Night of the Pawn was protected by trademark law by the organizer Jan-Philipp Sexauer in order to prevent commercial exploitation by third parties. However, the Federal Patent Court refused to grant trademark protection to the subtitle "Massacre". The Senate was of the opinion that the title " massacre " also offends against morality for chess tournaments or other sporting competitions .

Many of the Berlin institutions and " underground " locations where the NOTP took place no longer exist (e.g. Alt Berlin , Bar 25 , Forgotten Bar, Apartment, Bar Babette). The NOTP's "biography" also reflects the urban development of Berlin over the past ten years.
