Nijasbei "Nijasi" Alexandrovich Dsjapschipa ( Russian: Ниязбей Александрович Дзяпшипа ; born November 14, 1927 in Otschamtschira , Abkhaz SSR ; † January 5, 1993 in Tbilisi , Georgia ) was a Soviet football player from Abkhazia .

Life

Nijasbei Djapschipa was born in Abkhazia in 1927 when it was part of the Soviet Union . He started playing football at the local club Dinamo Otschamtschira in his hometown of Otschamtschira . After the Second World War , Djapschipa switched to Dinamo Sukhumi , the most successful club in Abkhazia at the time. The then Soviet first division club Dinamo Tiflis became aware of the young Dzjapschipa after a short time and finally signed the defender for the 1946 season.

In the 1940s and 1950s he was one of several players at Dinamo Tiflis who had started their professional career in Sukhum, including Georgi Grammatikopulo , Awtandil Gogoberidze , Juri Wardimiadi , Walter Sanaja and Wladimir Marganija .

Djapschipa would spend the rest of his career with the Tbilisi. By 1958, when he ended his active career, he made 179 league games for his club, in addition to which he had numerous appearances in cup games.

In 1952 he was honored as Honored Master of Sports of the USSR , in 1957 he received the Badge of Honor of the Soviet Union .

After his time as a player, he became a coach and looked after his old youth club Dinamo Sukhumi, Kolchida Poti and most recently from 1969 to 1970 Dinamo Tbilisi. He died in January 1993 at the age of 65 in Tbilisi . On the Dinamo Suchum website he is now listed as one of nine “legendary” players in the club.
