Porschnew already attracted attention as a junior with two world championship titles in the 2016 and 2017 seasons as well as a third place in the overall ranking in the IBU Junior Cup . At the end of the IBU Cup 2017/18 he made his debut among the active players in Khanty-Mansiysk . Although he could only achieve a podium in his second season in the IBU Cup , he was used at the end of the same season in the World Cup. Porschnew's debut in the 2018/19 season was also his world championship debut in the singles of the 2019 Biathlon World Championships in Östersund . Having entered the race first, he finished in 36th place in the points. In his second competition he made it onto the podium with the Russian relay team , and the Russians won the bronze medal in the line-up of Jelissejew , Porschnew, Malyshko and Loginow . In the following season he was part of the Russian World Cup team from the start. His best individual result was eleventh place in the 20-kilometer race at the 2020 World Championships in Antholz, where he finished fourth in the men's relay.
