Madeline Nicole Washington , called Nikki , (born August 1, 1988 in Mesquite , Texas ) is a former American soccer player who was last under contract with the Boston Breakers in the 2014 season.

Career

society

Washington began her professional career in 2009 with the Pali Blues . In early 2010 it was approved by the WPS - franchise the Los Angeles Sol drafted , but they broke up shortly thereafter and instead Washington was at league rivals Sky Blue FC under. In May 2010 she moved to the Saint Louis Athletica and only a few weeks later to the Chicago Red Stars . The 2011 season began in Washington to Boston Breakers , but switched in the same year for the franchise magicJack . In this way, she had been under contract with a total of six different WPS franchises in just two calendar years.

After the dissolution of the WPS, she joined the Pali Blues again for a short time and subsequently played for the Australian first division club Canberra United . In early 2013, Washington joined the Portland Thorns NWSL franchise. She made her league debut there on April 13, 2013 against FC Kansas City , on May 4, she scored her first goal in the NWSL against Washington Spirit . In January 2014 Washington switched to league rivals Houston Dash and after only three game days in exchange for Kaylyn Kyle on to the NWSL franchise of the Boston Breakers . There she ended her career in early 2015.

National team

Washington played from 2007 to 2008 for the US U-20 national team, with whom they participated in the 2008 World Cup and won the title there. In 2009 she was appointed to the squad of the US U-23 selection for the first time.
