Niklas Mayrhauser (born November 1, 1993 in Linz ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the EHC Liwest Black Wings Linz in the Austrian ice hockey league since 2014 .
Career
Mayrhauser began his career in the youth department of the EHC Linz , in whose second team he made his debut as a 15-year-old in the Oberliga , the third highest Austrian division. In the following season he also made his first appearances in the Austrian ice hockey league . He spent the 2012/13 season in the United States, where he was active for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs and the Aberdeen Wings in the North American Hockey League . After returning to Austria, he first played for the EC Red Bull Salzburg youth team in the Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja Liga , a Russian-dominated youth league . Since 2014 he has been playing again for his home club from Linz in the Austrian ice hockey league. At the end of 2015 he was loaned to EK Zell am See for eight games from the Inter-National League .
International
Mayrhauser has only played in the junior division for Austria so far. He took part in the U18 World Championships 2010 in Division I and 2011 in Division II and the U2 World Championships in Division I in 2012 and 2013 .
