Nicholas Hubert

Nicholas Hubert (* 14. June 1927 in Ittersdorf ; † 1. March 2015 ) was a German politician of the CDU .

Life and activity

Hubert joined the Saar CDU in 1955 , and was chairman of the Saarbrücken-Land district association for some time. In 1967 he was elected the last mayor of the independent community of Niedersalbach , until it was incorporated into Heusweiler in 1974 . After that he was a member of the Heusweiler municipal council from 1974 to 1994 (with one interruption) and was once again mayor of Niedersalbach from 1988 to 1991. The establishment of the community center in Niedersalbach and the founding of the Heimat- und Verkehrsverein Niedersalbach as well as the town twinning of Heusweiler and Orvault go back to him. In addition, he was a member of the Saarland state parliament from 1970 to 1980.

Hubert died after a short illness and was buried on March 6, 2015 in Heusweiler.

Honors

Hubert was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit on March 18, 1994 .
