Nikolaus Baron von Manteuffel called Szoege (born September 11, 1870 in Dserwen near Libau , † December 17, 1933 in Hamburg ) was a manor from Courland and a politician.

Life

Nikolaus von Manteuffel was the son of the Guard Rittmeister and heir to Dserwen Nikolai von Manteuffel and Mathilde born. Countess Lambsdorff . After attending grammar school in Goldingen , he studied law and agriculture at the Georg-August University of Göttingen , the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Agricultural University Poppelsdorf . In 1889 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Göttingen , the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg and the Corps Borussia Bonn . Besides Ernst von Gustedt, he was the only member of all three corps of the White Circle . Manteuffel became master of Dserwen. He was an Imperial Russian squire , honorary magistrate , county marshal of Grobinschen circle and Resident District Marshal in Mitau . He participated in the Baltic National Army in the fighting against the Bolsheviks . Expropriated from his lands after the First World War , he lived in Hamburg.
