Nils Diederich

Nils Diederich (born May 24, 1934 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and political scientist .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1953, Diederich completed a degree in economics , sociology and sinology at the Free University of Berlin , which he completed in 1960 with a degree in economics. In 1964 he received his doctorate as Dr. rer. pole. and finally his habilitation in 1971 .

From 1971 he was Professor of Political Science at the Otto Suhr Institute of the Free University of Berlin. From 1971 to 1976 he headed the planning control center for the Governing Mayor of Berlin. Since 1987 he has been Managing Director of the Central Institute for Social Science Research at the Free University of Berlin. From 1989 to 1990 he also headed the Social Science Information Center in Bonn . In 2002 he was one of the initiators of the establishment of the student communications agency Politikfabrik at the Otto Suhr Institute (OSI) at the Free University of Berlin .

He is married and has three children.

Political activity

He has been a member of the SPD since 1952. From 1986 to 1990 he was the state cashier of the SPD in Berlin. From 1967 to 1974 he was a member of the district assembly of Berlin- Zehlendorf . From 1976 to 1987 and from 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the German Bundestag . In the 12th electoral period in 1990, Nils Diederich was directly elected member of the constituency Berlin-Friedrichshain - Treptow - Lichtenberg I with 36.1% of the first votes .
