Nils Montan
Nils Torvald Montan (born August 28, 1916 in Gothenburg , † March 11, 1986 ) was a Swedish diplomat .
Montan passed the legal exam in 1939 and joined the foreign service of his country in the same year. It was used in Budapest , Bucharest , Frankfurt am Main , Bonn and Washington , among others . In 1959 he was appointed counselor. From 1960 to 1963 he was Minister with the rank of Ambassador to EFTA and from 1963 to 1964 Permanent Representative of Sweden to the international organizations in Geneva . He was then Deputy Cabinet Secretary for three years and Swedish Ambassador to Bonn from 1967 to 1972. In 1966/67 he was also chief negotiator for the Nordic countries in the GATT negotiations of the Kennedy Round .
