Nils Sondermann (born May 30, 1987 in Hagen ) is a former German ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with Eisadler Dortmund in the NRW League .

Career

After the running school, the toddlers, the youth and the juniors, Nils Sondermann was appointed to the professional team of the Iserlohn Roosters for the first time before the 2004/05 season . He was in the squad in seven DEL games during the year. He only received Ice Age in the DEB Cup and the Young Roosters, where he was one of the best defenders.

In the 2005/06 season he was back in the Roosters squad, but mostly ran for the then funding license partner, the Revierlöwen Oberhausen , in the league . There he was part of the regular squad, but could not achieve any scorer points in a total of 41 games for the Revierlöwen.

During the 2006/07 season , the then coach of the Roosters, Geoff Ward , slowly introduced him to the first team by regularly being allowed to sit on the bench. Since mid-January 2007, Sondermann was no longer needed in the Iserlohn Roosters team, and after an unsuccessful trial training with the Hanover Indians, he moved to the Eisbären Juniors in Berlin. For the 2007/08 season he signed a contract with the then top division club Hannover Indians , which he left after only one year.

In the period that followed, those responsible at EHC Dortmund became aware of the trained defender and were able to convince him of a commitment in Dortmund. Sondermann signed a contract with the Elchen and was able to win the regional league championship with the club at the end of the 2008/09 season. In the final games against the DEG Metro Stars 1b , the defensive player stood out for his beard, which he had dyed blue-white-red based on the model of the Dortmund club colors. At the end of May 2009, his contract in Dortmund was extended for another year.

Between May 2011 and 2013 he played as captain for league competitor Hammer Eisbären .
