The Nimisila Creek is a stream in the US state of Ohio . It originates in Stark County south of Akron-Canton Regional Airport . First the stream flows in a north-westerly, then westerly direction, and finally turns south. It flows northwest of the small town of Canal Fulton into the Tuscarawas River .
The catchment area of the approximately 17.5 km long Nimisila Creek has an area of 81.6 square kilometers in the counties Stark and Summit . On its way the brook flows through a number of small ponds or reservoirs. Willowdale Lake , Lake Noah and Comet Lake are named on the upper reaches , and Lake Lucern is just before the mouth . From Lake Noah, water from the Nimisila Creek is directed north into the Nimisila Reservoir , overflowing water reaches the stream again below Comet Lake. Further downstream is a weir that diverts water for the Ohio-Erie Canal . Nimisila Creek itself flows under this historic canal just before its mouth.
Not to be confused with Nimisila Creek is the larger Nimishillen Creek , located a little to the southeast of it .
