Nina the White Slave is a Danish silent film from 1912.

action

Nina, who appears as an artist in the variety theater, has fallen in love with the handsome naval officer Thomsen. Since it's supposed to be serious, she introduces him to her mother. A little later he has to go back to his ship and set sail. During his absence, the head of the vaudeville begins to stalk her rather penetratingly, so that Nina decides to turn her back on this establishment. An offer of volunteering from St. Petersburg seems very tempting to her, and so she leaves for what was then the Russian capital. But she has fallen into a trap of girl traffickers who want to force the pretty Nina into prostitution in her brothel.

As luck would have it, a little later Lieutenant Thomsen's official trip leads to St. Petersburg. He looks for Nina, but realizes that no serious theater has hired Nina. The police can't help him either, and so a second chance comes to Thomsen's help when he finds out about Nina's disappearance on a nightly stroll through the Russian metropolis. He finds her again and tries to help her escape. But the girl traffickers watch out and knock the naval officer down. When the police take care of him, they are now seriously investigating Nina's disappearance. The escape route of the kidnapper and brothel operator Cohn leads to a ship where Nina can be freed and Cohn arrested.
