Nina Puri

Nina Puri (* 1965 in Sheffield , England ) is a British author and creative director .

Life

Puri, who grew up in England , the USA and Germany , studied graphic design in Krefeld , Cologne , Trier and Düsseldorf . She developed her talent for caricature and illustration . After six years at Hamburg advertising agencies, Puri has been working as a freelance creative director and creative supervisor, including for IKEA , and as a writer since the end of 1996 .

In 2007 her first book was published, the satirical guide "Parental Diseases", which was created in collaboration with the journalist and author Susanne Kaloff . In February 2008, the book was ranked 12th on the Spiegel bestseller list. In June 2009 the successor “Over 30 Diseases” appeared. She felt inspired by the impression that Germans suffered more from the breakthrough of the 30s age limit than the British for her book “Ü-30-Diseases”.

At the beginning of 2011, the two satirical guides “Tischlein, lick 'mich” (February 2011) and “Katzen-Deutsch / Deutsch-Katzen” (March 2011) appeared. The latter reached number 9 in the Spiegel bestseller list (week 17/2011). In May 2012 “Queenig & Spleenig: How the English Tick” was published, and in March 2014 “A career in a bucket? Why mothers don't come to work ”.

Nina Puri is a member of the Art Directors Club Germany. She lives in Hamburg with her two sons and her partner .
