Nini from Arx-Zogg
Nini von Arx-Zogg (* uncertain: March 18, 1907 as Nini Zogg ; † before February 5, 1988 ) was a Swiss ski racer from Arosa .
In 1933, David Zogg's sister took part in the Alpine World Ski Championships in Innsbruck under her maiden name . In the downhill race, she won the silver medal behind Inge Wersin-Lantschner and took fifth place in the combination. At the 1936 World Championships in Innsbruck, von Arx-Zogg, now married, won bronze in the downhill behind Evelyn Pinching and Elvira Osirnig . In the combination, she took fourth place.
In the downhill race and the combined competition at the 1937 World Championships in Chamonix , von Arx-Zogg won the silver medal behind Christl Cranz , and she finished fifth in the slalom. She finished the slalom race at the 1938 World Championships in Engelberg again behind Christl Cranz in second place, making Arx-Zogg runner-up in her career for the fourth time. She also reached fourth place in the downhill and in the combination.
In 1933 Nini von Arx-Zogg took part in the Arlberg-Kandahar race in Mürren . She won the downhill race, in slalom and the combination she came in second behind Esmé MacKinnon . In the women's competition of the Gamperney Derby , which was held for the first time in 1933, she won the downhill race, the slalom and the combination. Von Arx-Zogg also won five Swiss championships , in 1936 in all three disciplines and in 1940 in slalom and combined.
The combination victories earned her the title of Swiss Ski Champion . At the SDS races in Grindelwald between 1934 and 1937 she achieved a total of twice first, five times second and twice third.
From February 5, 1988 there was a report of the death of 81-year-old Nini von Arx-Zogg.
