Ninon Colneric (born August 29, 1948 in Oer-Erkenschwick ) is a German legal scholar and former judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

Colneric studied law in Tübingen , Munich and Geneva . During a research stay in 1974/75 she met Bill Wedderburn , a student of Otto Kahn's friend . The University of Munich awarded her the Faculty Prize for her dissertation.

She then worked as a judge at the Oldenburg Labor Court and qualified as a professor at the University of Bremen with the Venia legendi in the fields of labor law , legal sociology and social law . In 1989 she became President of the Schleswig-Holstein State Labor Court , and later honorary professor at the University of Bremen for the field of "Labor law, with special attention to European labor law".

From July 15, 2000 to October 6, 2006, she was chosen by the then red-green federal government to be a judge at the European Court of Justice. She was the first German woman in this facility. Her mandate was not renewed for reasons of political proportionality ; instead, the Cologne law professor Thomas von Danwitz , who is considered economically liberal , was sent.

She then became co-dean of the China-EU School of Law , a cooperation project between European universities and the China University of Political Science and Law .
