Nisporeni is a city in Moldova . It is the capital of the Nisporeni Rajon of the same name .
history
The city of Nisporeni is mentioned for the first time in 1618 in an official document by Gaşpar Graziani . According to an eighteenth-century census, there were 73 houses and cottages in Nisporeni. By 1875 the population had risen to 3532 people, including 1840 men. The main occupation was agriculture. A special branch was the cultivation of vines and fruits. At the beginning of the 21st century, the city began to develop new business models, supported by financial resources from abroad.
In 2011 a monumental cross was erected in Nisporeni, at that time the largest in Moldova.
The Albasat TV channel is located in the city .
