Noélie Ditchakou Yarigo (born December 26, 1985 in Natitingou ) is a Beninese middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter run .

Athletic career

Noélie Yarigo gained her first international experience at the La Francophonie Games in Niamey in 2005 , where she finished sixth in 2: 11.61 minutes and with the Beninese 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 47.56 minutes reached fifth place. Two years later she took part in the Africa Games in Algiers for the first time and was eliminated there with 2: 13.29 minutes in advance, as was the case at the 2012 African Championships in Porto-Novo with 2: 06.72 minutes. Even at the 2013 Francophonie Games in Nice , she did not make it to the final with 2: 07.35 minutes. In 2014 she was fifth at the African Championships in Marrakech in 2: 01.64 min and in 2015 she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated in the first round with 2: 02.48 min . In 2016 she reached sixth place at the African Championships in Durban in 2: 02.68 min and also qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 1: 59.78 min . In 2017 she won the bronze medal in 2: 02.47 minutes at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku and won the silver medal behind Moroccan Malika Akkaoui at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan in 2: 01.27 minutes . In addition, she did not finish there with the 4 x 100 meter relay. At the World Championships in London she reached the semifinals , in which she was eliminated with 1: 59.74 min.

In 2018 she finished seventh at the African Championships in Asaba in 2: 04.36 minutes. The following year she was also seventh over 800 meters at the Africa Games in Rabat in 2: 04.66 minutes.

In 2006 Yarigo became the Beninese champion in the 800 meter run.
