Noël Simard (born November 25, 1947 in Saint-Aimé-des-Lacs ) is Bishop of Valleyfield .

Life

Noël Simard was ordained a priest on May 28, 1972 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 16, 2008 auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie and titular bishop of Nova Sinna . The bishop of Sault Sainte Marie, Jean-Louis Plouffe , ordained him episcopal on October 3 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Pierre Morissette , Bishop of Saint-Jérôme , and Ronald Peter Fabbro CSB , Bishop of London . As a motto he chose Caritas Gaudium Pax .

He was named Bishop of Valleyfield on December 30, 2011 and inducted into office on February 23 of the next year.

Since June 2017 he has been a full member of the Pontifical Academy for Life , of which he was previously a corresponding member.
