Jean-Louis Plouffe (born October 29, 1940 in Ottawa ) is a Canadian Roman Catholic clergyman and emeritus bishop of Sault Sainte Marie .

Life

Jean-Louis Plouffe was ordained a priest on May 28, 1972 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on December 12, 1986 auxiliary bishop in Sault Sainte Marie and titular bishop of Lamzella . The Archbishop of Ottawa , Marcel André J. Gervais , donated him episcopal ordination on February 24 of the next year ; Co- consecrators were Jean Gratton , Bishop of Mont-Laurier , and Bernard Francis Pappin , Auxiliary Bishop of Sault Sainte Marie.

On December 2, 1989, he was appointed Bishop of Sault Sainte Marie.

On November 12, 2015, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
