Nobel (Ukrainian and Russian Нобель ; Polish Nobel ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Rivne Oblast with 300 inhabitants. It is located on a peninsula surrounded by the Nobel Lake of the same name , the Pripyat River runs north of the town together with the border with Belarus , the Saritschne district center is 25 kilometers southwest, the Oblast capital Rivne 143 kilometers southwest of the town.
On August 26, 2015, the village became part of the newly established rural community Loknyzja ( Локницька сільська громада Loknyzka silska hromada ) until then, the village formed together with the villages Didiwka ( Дідівка ) Kotyra ( Котира ) and Mlyn ( Млин ) of the same district municipality .
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1158 in the Chronicle of Hypatius and until 1793 it was part of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania in the Volyn Voivodeship . Then it came to the newly founded Minsk Governorate as part of the Russian Empire . After the end of the First World War the place became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Voivodeship Polesien , Powiat Pińsk, Gmina Moroczna Wielka), after the outbreak of the Second World War the area was occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 by Germany . In 1945 it became part of the Soviet Union and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , in 1991 it finally became part of today's Ukraine.
