Zarichne (Ukrainian Зарічне - to 1946 Погост / Pohost, Погост-Зарічний / Pohost-Saritschnyj; Russian Заречное / Zarechnoye , Polish Pohost Zarzeczny ) is an urban-type in the western Ukrainian oblast Riwne with 7,325 inhabitants (2015). It is the administrative center of the Saritschne Rajons of the same name and is located on the Styr River , north of Rivne near the border with Belarus .
In addition to the main town, the settlement administration also includes the villages Ivantschyzi (Іванчиці) and Chernyn (Чернин).
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1480 and until 1793 was part of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania in the Brześć Litewski Voivodeship . Then it came to the newly founded Minsk Governorate as part of the Russian Empire . After the end of the First World War the place became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Voivodeship Polesien , Powiat Pińsk, Gmina Moroczna), after the outbreak of the Second World War the area was occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 by Germany . In 1945 it finally came to the Soviet Union and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , in 1991 it finally became part of today's Ukraine.
Since 1959 Saritschne has the status of an urban-type settlement.
