Demydiwka (Ukrainian Демидівка ; Russian Демидовка / Demidowka , Polish Demidówka ) is an urban-type settlement in the western Ukrainian Rivne Oblast with about 2,700 inhabitants. It is the administrative center of the Demydivka Rajons of the same name and is located on the Ratscha River , about 69 kilometers southwest of the Oblast capital, Rivne .
On September 13, 2016, the settlement became the center of the newly established settlement community Demydiwka (Демидівська селищна громада / Demydiwska selyschtschna hromada ). At that includes also the 21 villages Advertise (Вербень) Wytschawky (Вичавки) vyshneve (Вишневе) Hlyboka Dolyna (Глибока Долина) Dubljany (Дубляни) Ilpyboky (Ільпибоки) Kalynivka (Калинівка) Knjahynyne , Kopan (Копань ) Lyssyn (Лисин) Lischnja (Лішня) Lopawschtsche (Лопавше) Ostriw (Острів) Ochmatkiw (Охматків) Perekali (Перекалі) Pljaschewe (Пляшева) Rohisne (Рогізне) Rudka (Рудка) Soloniw (Солонів ), Towpyschyn (Товпижин) and Chrinnyky (Хрінники), until then the settlement together with the villages Dubljany and Lischnja formed the settlement council of the same name.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1566, after the 3rd partition of Poland the place came to the Russian Empire in the Volyn Governorate in 1795 . After the end of the First World War the place became part of the Second Polish Republic ( Voivodeship Volhynia , Powiat Dubno, Gmina Kniahinin), after the outbreak of the Second World War the area was occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 by Germany , in 1945 it finally came to Soviet Union and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . Demydivka has been a part of Ukraine since its independence in 1991. Since 1959 the place has the status of an urban-type settlement, 1940/44 to 1962 and again since 1996 it has been the administrative center of the Demydivka district of the same name .
