history

The origin as a Russian forest railway (1895 to 1920)

The origin of the route lies in a forest railway , which was built in the then Russian Empire from 1895 (according to other sources not until 1913) with a gauge of 750 mm. During the First World War , the forest railway was extended to the front. In 1915 a 114 km long network was created, which had a connection to the broad gauge network in two stations , in Antonowka (today Antoniwka ) on the line Kovel - Sarny and in Dombrowiza (today Dubrowyzja ) on the line Luninez - Sarni. The network consisted of the main line Antonovka - Chinotschi - Kuchozkaja Wola (today Kuchizka Wolja ) with a branch line from Chinotschi to Dombrowitsa.

Takeover by the PKP (1920 to 1939)

During the Polish-Soviet War , the catchment area of ​​the railway was occupied by Poland and assigned to the Voivodeships of Volhynia and Polesia . The route was taken over by the Polish State Railways (PKP). They set up a sparse passenger traffic, which was led under the course book route number 519/538. The Antonówka – Chinocze section was served by a pair of trains every day, the Chinocze – Kuchocka Wola and Chinocze – Dąbrowica sections alternating only three times a week.

The route reconstruction in the Soviet Union (1939 to 1991)

Due to the German-Soviet non-aggression pact , the catchment area of ​​the routes was occupied by the Soviet Union in 1939 and incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR . During the Second World War , the route network was destroyed. Due to the low priority, the restart was slow, in 1948 the route network was restored. The line was initially subordinated to the Ministry of Transport ( Ministerstwo putej soobschtschenija ), but in 1957 it was handed over to the Sarny Forestry Company and henceforth operated again as a forest railway. The section Tychowyr –Kuchizka Wolja was closed and dismantled and instead the line to Loknyzja was extended. At that time, the railway was primarily used to transport wood.

In 1967 the railway was again subordinated to the Ministry of Transport and assigned to Lvivska Salisnyzja . In 1968, the route to Loknyzja was Zarichne extended. The Chinotschi – Dubrowyzja branch was only used for freight traffic after 1939 and was closed in 1974. The Chinotschi branch station was dismantled to the stopping point.

The Antonivka – Saritschne route in Ukraine (since 1991)

With the independence of Ukraine in 1991, the new Ukrainian Railway took over operations. In 1996 the freight traffic was stopped. Until 2002, two pairs of passenger trains ran daily, since then only one.

The depot is located in Antonivka about 1 km from the station. There is only one stub track at Antoniwka station for passenger trains. The condition of the track enables relatively high speeds of up to 35 km / h.

Vehicle use

No information is available on vehicle use in the initial period. While the PKP was in operation, locomotives of the Wp29 series were used. From 1960 two locomotives of the ГР (GR) series were used.

From 1971, four were diesel locomotives of the series ТУ2 (TU2) used by the vice sprint narrow-gauge railway from Marguzek ( Charanor - Priargunsk , Oblast Chita , Siberia ) came. The regular use of steam locomotives ended in 1972. From 1976 a locomotive of the ТУ7 (ТУ7) was used, but mostly served as a reserve. The planned traffic was handled in 2007 by two ТУ2, the ТУ7 is only used for track maintenance.
