Norbert Adam
Norbert Adam (* 1931 in Vienna ) is an Austrian sports official and journalist .
Life
Professionally, Norbert Adam was ASKÖ sports secretary and (chief) editor of the ASKÖ-Sport magazine from 1952 to 1967 , ORF radio sports editor from 1967 to 1992 , most recently head of the main sports department and employee at the daily newspapers Neues Österreich , Express and Wien-Sport -Correspondent for the Upper Austrian News .
Initially a basketball player, then as a multi-sport functionary, from 1952 he held various positions in the Vienna and later in the Austrian Basketball Association. Norbert Adam was also a media advisor on a “ Tour of Austria ” and for years press officer in various sports associations ( Austrian Swimming Association , Austrian Judo Association , Austrian Cycling Association ). As the organizer and chairman of the organizing committee (OK), he also acted at a European basketball championship and as general secretary of European and world basketball and judo championships. As chairman of ABC Wien ( basketball and fitness ), he was also the organizer of fitness, running and play festivals on national holidays at the WIG site in Laaerberg and at Heldenplatz in Vienna (with the Austrian army ) with up to 50,000 participants. In addition, he was one of the proponents of the Austrian Sports Aid and from 1990 a member of the specialist council and board of trustees of the Austrian Institute for School and Sports Facility Construction (ÖISS).
From the 1950s he worked for the Austrian Sports Yearbook of the Austrian Federal Sports Organization (BSO), from 1968 25 years its editor-in-chief; BSO Public Relations Officer and Executive Member (1949 to 1990). Chairman of the Austrian Journalists 'Club , member of the presidium of the journalists' union and the art, media, liberal professions union and editor of the publication Schule & Sportstätte.
