Norbert Bunge

Norbert Bunge (* 1941 in Berlin ) is a German filmmaker , cameraman and photographer . He runs a photo gallery in Berlin.

Life

Bunge has made numerous documentaries since 1974 , initially as a cameraman and later as a director and producer . In addition to portraits of well-known artists such as George Grosz , Peter Weiss and Fritz Cremer , the subjects of his films are in particular National Socialism and Apartheid . His films have been shown in cinemas, on television and at numerous film festivals.

In 1996 he opened the gallery argus fotokunst in Berlin-Mitte, which is dedicated to the photography of the 20th century, especially b & w photography. As a gallery owner, Norbert Bunge focused on bringing East German photography closer to a larger audience. He exhibited works by Arno Fischer , Ursula Arnold , Helga Paris , Uwe Steinberg , Barbara Berthold , Ulrich Wüst , Christian Borchert , Sibylle Bergemann , Roger Melis and Manfred Paul , among others . At the same time, he regularly created a forum for important photographers who were hardly or hardly known in Germany, such as Clemens Kalischer , Ragnar Axellson , Hans Hammarskiöld and Will McBride .
