Norbert Felix Gaughan

Norbert Felix Gaughan (born May 30, 1921 in Pittsburgh , USA , † October 1, 1999 ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Gary .

Life

Norbert Felix Gaughan received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Pittsburgh on November 4, 1945 . On March 10, 1951, he was incardinated in the newly founded diocese of Greensburg .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on April 2, 1975 titular bishop of Taraqua and auxiliary bishop in Greensburg. The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Greensburg, William Graham Connare , on June 26th of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Salina , Cyril John Vogel , and Auxiliary Bishop John Bernard McDowell of Pittsburgh.

On July 24, 1984, Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Gary .

On June 1, 1996, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to reasons of age.
