Norbert Hüsson

Norbert Hüsson (born August 15, 1956 ) is a medium-sized entrepreneur from Düsseldorf and is considered the father of the "Meister-BAföG" ( AFBG ).

Life

Norbert Hüsson grew up as the son of Hermann and Gisela Hüsson. After training as a painter and varnisher, he joined his parents' company in 1975. With his master craftsman's examination in 1979, he became a managing partner of the company that is now run as "Hüsson Farbe Gestaltung Bautenschutz GmbH" in Düsseldorf. In 1984 he received his degree as a state-certified business economist .

Norbert Hüsson has been married to Andrea Hüsson since 1988; the two have two children and live in Düsseldorf.

Honorary positions and commitment

Hüsson has been involved in organizations and associations in the trade since his early years as a managing partner in his father's company. Between 1986 and 1994 he was federal chairman of the crafts junior . Today he is a member of the general assembly of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts .

Since 1994, Hüsson has been a member of the board of trustees at the Institute for Applied Innovation Research at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Hüsson is also a member of the board of the Society of the Friends of the Art Academy Düsseldorf .

His voluntary commitments also include chairing the board of the Federal Children's Hospice Foundation and chairing the Förderverein Kinder- und Jugendhospiz Düsseldorf e. V., who is committed to the rainbow country children's and youth hospice in Düsseldorf. Hüsson took over the chairmanship in 2007 after the association separated from its predecessor due to legal disputes. After this change, Hüsson implemented new statutes and the separation of the children's hospice and the support association. Hüsson has repeatedly been able to win prominent ambassadors for the rainbow country, such as Sandy Mölling or Christian Lindner . Another building was added to the children's and youth hospice in July 2017. It cost 7.5 million euros and was financed by donations.

Political commitment

Hüsson has been involved in the CDU Düsseldorf since 1975 . He is chairman of the Mittelstands- und Wirtschaftsunion (MIT) of the Bergisches Land district and the Düsseldorf district association and campaigns for the interests of medium-sized businesses.

In 2008 he spoke out against the inheritance tax being too high for smaller companies and has been campaigning for the importance of vocational training in society ever since.

Hüsson is considered the father of the Master BAföG ( AFBG ). In 1996, as chairman of the Association of Young Craftsmen , he brought up the term for the first time and called for a corresponding concept.

His development of Upgrading Training Assistance Act (AFBG) graduated in 1996 the funding gap for master students and created as a counterpart to BaföG the legal claim for promotion opportunities in vocational training, that of craftsmen and skilled workers. The so-called "Master BAföG" also serves as a safeguard for the successor to craft businesses.
