Norbert Neuser
Norbert Hans Neuser (born March 22, 1949 in Boppard ) is a German politician ( SPD ). In the European elections in 2009 and 2014 , Neuser was elected to the European Parliament as a member of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .
Life
Neuser attended elementary school in Boppard and graduated from high school in 1969 at the Kant high school there . From 1969 to 1973 he studied mathematics , sport and politics at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Education in Koblenz (today part of the University of Koblenz-Landau ) for teaching at primary and secondary schools . Neuser was a teacher at the special school in Boppard for a year until he switched to the secondary school in Emmelshausen in 1974. He completed additional studies in 1978 with a focus on adult education as a qualified pedagogue .
He has been the headmaster since 1986 , most recently at the Fritz-Strassmann-Schule Boppard since 1993. Since 1997 he has been organizing the European Nils Holgerson project , a joint exchange of experiences for students from schools in Sweden , Finland , Hungary , Slovakia , Portugal and Russia .
Neuser is married, has three grown children and lives in Boppard .
politics
Neuser has been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1982 to 1984 he was a member of the Young Socialists' federal executive committee until 1984 to 1985 he became Juso state chairman in Rhineland-Palatinate. In 1983 Neuser organized the nationwide development aid campaign paving stones for Nicaragua . Since then he has been friends with the Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega . The main focus of Neuser's political work is north-south politics. He has a wide range of international connections, most of which have arisen from aid projects. a. to South Africa and Eastern European countries .
Between 1982 and 1986 he was a co-organizer of youth exchanges and meetings with Hungary, the Soviet Union and the GDR before the fall of the Wall in 1989. From 1991 to 2009, Neuser was an honorary district member of the Rhein-Hunsrück district . From 1986 to 2006, Neuser was chairman of the SPD Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis and in 2002 was a direct candidate in the Mosel / Rhein-Hunsrück federal constituency . He was defeated by his rival Peter Bleser (CDU). In 1998 he ran for the office of district administrator in the Rhein-Hunsrück district and was defeated by the incumbent Bertram Fleck (CDU).
Since 2006 he has been chairman of the One World Forum Rhineland-Palatinate. The One World Forum advises the SPD on questions of globalization, peace and development policy. Since 2007, Neuser has been the representative of the Zala / Hungary region in the Central and Eastern Europe Center at Frankfurt-Hahn Airport , a central point of contact for questions relating to trade and economic development between Germany and countries in Central and Eastern Europe. In 2008, Neuser was elected to the International Politics Commission of the SPD party executive chaired by Frank-Walter Steinmeier .
In the European elections in 2009 , Neuser ran for the first time for the European Parliament . With the list position 21 he succeeded in entering parliament. There he became a member of the Development Committee . In the Rhineland-Palatinate municipal elections held at the same time as the European elections in 2009 , Neuser was confirmed as a district council member of the Rhein-Hunsrück district.
For the 2014 European elections , Neuser received list place 27, with which he was able to move back into the European Parliament. In the Rhineland-Palatinate municipal elections in 2014 , which were also held at the same time , Neuser was re-elected to the district council.
Memberships
Neuser is a member of the Europa-Union parliamentary group European Parliament . Since 2010 he has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fridtjof Nansen Academy for Civic Education at the Ingelheim Training Center .
