Norbert Schmidt

Norbert Schmidt (* 1957 ) is a German Protestant theologian . He is professor for practical theology and missiology and rector at the Tabor Evangelical University in Marburg .

Career

Norbert Schmidt studied theology at the Tabor Theological Seminary (today Tabor Evangelical University). From 1979 to 1982 he worked as a youth pastor for the Protestant parishes of Bracht - Breyell and Lobberich . Between 1982 and 1985 he studied theology in Deerfield / IL, USA, with the degrees M. Div. and M. Th. From 1985 to 1990 he was a lecturer in New Testament and practical theology (missiology) at the Tabor Theological Seminary. In Erlangen he studied theology from 1987 to 1990 and graduated as Dr. theol. He then worked as a missionary in Brazil between 1990 and 1995. From 1992 to 1995 he was a lecturer in missiology at the Centro de Pastoral e Missão in Curitiba , Brazil. He has been a lecturer in Tabor since 1995 and as a professor since 2011. Since 1996 he has been director of the theological seminary and since 2009 rector of the Tabor Evangelical University.
