The Federation of Evangelical Communities (BeG) was founded in April 2006 in Marburg . The association currently includes seven community associations across Germany with around 7500 members, as well as three foundations belonging to the network of the German Community Diakonia Association and one other foundation.

Working method and goals

The association works in the space and framework of the Evangelical Gnadauer Gemeinschaftverband e. V. (Kassel), the umbrella organization of intra-church pietism .

The association places particular emphasis on promoting and supporting the establishment of new Christian communities. Currently (as of 2013) there are about 15 church planting projects in the federal government . The federal guidelines reflect the goals of the entire organization:

  1. Support missionary church building and planting projects to bring people to Christ
  2. Promote the diversity of different forms of congregation determined by the commission and at the same time strengthen the unity of the body of Christ through cohesion with one another
  3. Stand up for one another in solidarity, take responsibility for one another and develop new perspectives together.

tasks

According to its statutes (§ 2.5), the tasks are:

  • Coordination of the community associations belonging to it in theological and organizational aspects on the basis of binding cooperation.
  • Support of the community associations and works belonging to it on their missionary and diaconal mandate .
  • Promotion and deepening of cooperation between member associations and organizations.
  • Promoting the exchange of experiences and skills as well as strengthening a common profile.
  • Representation of common concerns and positions of the members externally.

These tasks are carried out in particular through the provision of forums, training courses and conferences, information and exchange, missionary projects, the development of spiritual and theological principles, working guidelines for full-time employees and community guidelines and current statements and joint publications.

Belief base

The association works on the theological basis of the German Evangelical Alliance . The inerrancy of the Bible (see also the Chicago Declaration ), a corresponding proclamation of the Christian message and prayer are of central importance to the member organizations.

The BeG itself, the individual member associations and their local associations are recognized within the Evangelical Church .

  • Oberkirchenrat (OKR) Michael Martin (Munich) participated in the Whitsun Conference 2018 in Gunzenhausen, where Volker Ulm, the incumbent President of the BeG, was introduced as the new 1st Chairman of the HGV. OKR Michael Martin was one of the speakers at the seminar "Regional Church and HGV: Rub against each other and yet stay together" and reported there. a. from the long-term series of discussions in the regional church office with the HGV in the context of "Gnadau Bavaria", including concluded agreements.
  • Dr. Michael Diener, the President of the Evangelical Gnadauer Community Association, also u. a. also the 7 BeG community associations belonged, was elected by the synod and church conference of the EKD to the 15-member council of the EKD (the public voice of the EKD). Before that he was appointed member of the 12th Synod of the EKD by the EKD Council.

Publications

The association publishes the BeGegierungen magazine every year and an online newsletter every two months.
