Norbert Starzak (born August 27, 1950 - August 4, 2003 in the Dolomites , Italy ) was a German football player and entrepreneur .

Career

Starzak played two games for SV Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga in the 1971/72 season . He was substituted on in both games, neither could be won. It remained his only games in the upper house of German football. In 1972 Starzak moved to DJK Gütersloh , where he played in 64 league games in the West Regional Football League until 1974 , scoring 16 goals. Then he tied up the shoes for those in the 2. Bundesliga playing TSV 1860 Munich and Wormatia Worms . In 1981 he went to TSV Flörsheim-Dalsheim, where he let his career end.

After the career

With his move to TSV Flörsheim-Dalsheim, Starzak also became the team's coach. In 1984 he moved to SpVgg Neckarelz , where he ended his active career a year later. Until his death he was also the sports director of SpVgg Neckarelz and experienced his greatest success with promotion to the association league in 2003. Since 2004, the Norbert Starzak Memorial Cup has been played annually in his honor at the Spielvereinigung .

In 1986, Starzak together with Ernst Becker in Flörsheim-Dalsheim the company Sportomed , of which he was. This received the innovation award in 1998 for the development of a gel for cold packs. On August 4, 2003 , Starzak had a fatal accident while mountain climbing in the Dolomites . He lived in the Odenwald until his death .
