Norbert Thomas

Norbert Thomas (born October 28, 1947 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German visual artist of concrete art and university lecturer.

Life

Thomas studied from 1969 to 1974 at the University of Fine Arts and Comprehensive University in Kassel . During his studies he did his first systematic work with the inclusion of chance. From 1982 to 1985 he stayed in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on Tenerife for work and study interests . From 1987 to 1991 he was a professor of design at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences . In 1991 he accepted a professorship for the fundamentals of artistic design at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . In the meantime, he has spent several short work and study stays abroad: 1995 in New York , 2000 in Madrid and 2004 in Istanbul . Norbert Thomas lives in Essen .
