Norbert Voss

Norbert Voss (born March 12, 1913 in Werden ; † October 11, 1993 in Düsseldorf ) was a German writer and head of the cultural office.

Life

Voss was born as the son of a farmer in Werden an der Ruhr (now part of Essen). He grew up in the Röhrtal . He attended high school in Arnsberg .

The city of Düsseldorf became aware of him through his publications, and he became head of the cultural office there. In this capacity he prevented the closure of the Robert Schumann Conservatory , and he also established the youth music school. As a part-time job, he worked for 30 years as a socio-pedagogical teacher at the study institute for municipal administration at the Düsseldorf Business Development Agency.

Voss was a member of the Society for the German Language , the Free German Association of Authors and the Germany Foundation .
