Normand Aubin (born July 26, 1960 in Saint-Léonard , Québec ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player who played for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League from 1981 to 1983 .
Career
Norm Aubin began his career as a hockey player in 1976 in the LHJMQ , where he played for three years for the Sorel Éperviers , the Verdun Éperviers and the Sherbrooke Castors . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1979 in the third round as a total of 51 players from the Toronto Maple Leafs . In the summer of 1980, Aubin was appointed to the squad of the New Brunswick Hawks from the American Hockey League , the then Toronto farm team, for which he was exclusively active in the following season. During the 1981/82 season, the Canadian was on the ice for both the Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League and the Cincinnati Tigers from the Central Hockey League .
During the 1982/83 season, Aubin played in 27 regular season games or the playoffs for the Maple Leafs and mostly for their new farm team, the St. Catharines Saints from the American Hockey League , in the next season exclusively for the Saints. After Aubin's contract with the Maple Leafs was not renewed in the summer of 1984, it took until December of that year for the Edmonton Oilers to sign the attacker. Subsequently, however, he was only used in their farm team at that time , the Nova Scotia Oilers , so that he ended his professional career at the end of the season.
