Nowogród Bobrzański [ nɔˈvɔgrut bɔˈbʒansci ] ( German Naumburg am Bober ) is a small town in the powiat Zielonogórski of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the town-and-country municipality of the same name with about 9400 inhabitants and is located on the Lower Silesian east bank of the Bober .
history
The city was founded in 1202 and received city rights in the 13th century. From the 13th century on, there was a monastery of the Augustinian Canons in the city . The town east of Sommerfeld (Lubsko) had 1250 inhabitants (1939).
At the end of the war , Naumburg was almost completely destroyed. It fell to Poland in 1945 and lost its city rights by 1988 . This year it was united with the former town of Krzystkowice (Christianstadt) , which was on the west bank of the Bober in Lower Lusatia.
