Nowosilka ( Ukrainian Новосілка ; Russian Новосёлка Nowosjolka , Polish Nowosiółka Kostiukowa ) is a village in the southern Ukrainian oblast Ternopil with about 1600 inhabitants (2001).
Nowosilka is the only village in the 23.26 km² district council of the same name .
In the village, first mentioned in writing in 1530, a castle was built in the 17th century, of which a tower ruin is still preserved today. There is also the listed St. Magdalena Chapel in the classical style, which was built in 1817 as a mausoleum for the Schelinski family, the owners of the village at the time, and the Greek Catholic St. Michael Church , built in 1990 in the center of the village. Church. In addition, the village has a remarkable monument to the fighters for independence of Ukraine from 1996.
Geographical location
The village is located in the east of the Salishchyky Rajon on the bank of the Chromowa ( Хромова ), a 22 km long left tributary of the Seret , about 20 km northeast of the district center Salishchyky and about 115 km south of the Oblast center Ternopil . Territorial road T – 20–15 runs through the village .
