Nozomi Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 希 実 Tanaka Nozomi ; born September 4, 1999 ) is a Japanese medium and long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Nozomi Tanaka appeared internationally at the U20 World Championships 2016 in Bydgoszcz , where she finished eighth in the 3000 meter run in 9: 01.16 minutes . The following year she was fourth in the 1,500 meter run at the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar in 4: 20.43 min . In 2018 she won the Junior Asian Championships in Gifu in 9: 04.36 min and then also the U20 World Championships in Tampere in 8: 54.01 min . In September she was sixth at the Continental Cup in Ostrava . The following year, she was 39:27 at the 2019 World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus and fifth in the 5000-meter run at the Asian Championships in Doha in 15: 44.59 minutes . Over this distance she also qualified for the world championships there and finished 14th in the final in 15: 00.01 min .
