Nuno Manuel dos Santos Almeida (born August 1, 1962 in Pedrosinhas , Sátão , Portugal ) is a Portuguese Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Braga .

Life

Nuno Manuel dos Santos Almeida studied at the Catholic University of Portugal in Porto and obtained a degree in Catholic theology . On October 19, 1986 he received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Viseu .

As a priest he was active in pastoral care in various parishes. He was President of the Society of Priests of the Diocese of Viseu and was a member of the Council of Priests and the College of Consultors of the Diocese.

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Ruspae and auxiliary bishop in Braga on November 21, 2015 . He was ordained episcopate on January 31 of the following year by the Bishop of Viseu, Ilídio Pinto Leandro . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Braga, Jorge Ortiga , and the Bishop of Leiria-Fátima , António Marto .
