Coordinates: 58 ° 45 ′  N , 17 ° 0 ′  E Nyköping is a municipality ( Swedish commun ) in the Swedish province of Södermanland County and the historical province of Södermanland . The main town of the municipality is Nyköping .

geography

Nyköping is a coastal municipality about 100 km south of Stockholm on the Baltic Sea . The coast is characterized by the numerous offshore archipelago, of which the inland archipelagos are used for agriculture. The inland is criss-crossed by numerous lakes and smaller watercourses. The Kilaån River, which flows into the Baltic Sea at Nyköping, flows through the southern municipality.
