Geographical location
The village is located in Western Pomerania , about 55 km northeast of Stettin , about 25 km southeast of Kamień Pomorski (Cammin i. Pom.) And about 12 km southwest of Gryfice (Greifenberg i. Pom.) .
history
In the 18th century Woistenthin belonged with one part to the district of the Dompropstei Kucklow , with another, smaller part to the Flemming circle . In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), the cathedral provost part of "Woistenthin, formerly known as Wussenthin" is listed as one of only three villages that made up the district of the cathedral provosty. In Domprobstei share Woistenthin time there was a Vorwerk with a sheep, a preacher (pastor), a clerk, five farmers, a Kossäten, a pitcher and a blacksmith (which both shares owned), a total of 25 households ( "fires") . The church was a mother church with Filia in Schwessow . In the smaller part of Woistenthin belonging to the Flemming district there were four farmers, two kossäts and a smithy (which belonged to both parts), a total of eight households (“fire places”). At the time, this share belonged to a member of the noble von Flemming family and was an old Flemming fief.
With the dissolution of the Dompropstei Kucklow in 1811 the whole of Woistenthin was assigned to the Flemming circle , from which the Cammin district emerged in 1818 .
Until 1945 Woistenthin formed a rural community in the Cammin district of the Prussian province of Pomerania . In addition to Woistenthin, Hungersberg and Rüchelsruh lived in the community .
Towards the end of the Second World War, Woistenthin was conquered by the Red Army in 1945 and then - like all of Western Pomerania - placed under Polish administration. Poles immigrated. The place name was Polonized to "Ościęcin". The population was of Polish militiamen expelled .
