O'Jay Ferguson (born October 17, 1993 in Snyder ) is a Bahamian athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

O'Jay Ferguson gained his first international experience at the 2010 CARIFTA Games in George Town , where he finished fifth over 400 meters and won the silver medal with the Bahamian 4 x 400 meter relay. Then finished at the Pan American Junior Championships in Santo Domingo also fifth place over 400 meters and fourth place with the relay. At the CARIFTA Games 2011 in Montego Bay , he won the gold medal in the individual competition and was disqualified in the relay in the final. Also in 2012 he won the CARIFTA Games in Devonshire in the individual competition and with the relay. He then took part in the Junior World Championships in Barcelona and was eliminated there in the semi-finals over 400 meters and with the relay he could not qualify for the final.

In 2013 he won the silver medal with the relay at the Central America and Caribbean Championships in Morelia and also qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where they were eliminated with 3: 02.67 minutes in advance. Four years later he took part again with the relay at the World Championships in London and was eliminated again with 3: 02.04 min in the first round . In 2018 he won the silver medal behind Botswana at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast in 3: 01.92 minutes.
