The O'Neill Point (in Chile Punta Ladislao in Argentina Punta Independencia ) is a headland at the northern end of the Lautaro Island in Gerlache Strait before the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 2.5 km west-southwest of Lemaire Island .

The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named the headland in 1977 after Vincent Michael O'Neill, radio operator and mechanic of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey on Danco Island (1957-1958) and on Deception Island (1958-1959). The namesake of the Chilean name is Ladislao Gallego Trujillo, stoker on the Yelcho under captain Luis Pardo during the rescue voyage in August 1916 for the participants in the endurance expedition (1914-1917) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton who were stranded on Elephant Island . In Argentina, on the other hand, the headland is named in memory of the country's independence from Spain on July 9, 1816.
